Auroa's 11 biomes

Auroa spans beaches, jungles, mountains, tundra and industrial drone facilities. Each biome changes traversal and enemy density. Exact biome boundaries are TBD.

Golem Island

Golem Island is the hidden endgame zone used for the toughest raids and squad tactics. It is separate from the main open world.

Game background

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is set on Auroa, a South Pacific archipelago run by drone-maker Skell Technology. You play Nomad, a Ghost spec-ops soldier stranded behind enemy lines. The Wolves — rogue former Ghosts led by Cole D. Walker — control the island.

The open world spans 11 biomes, from beaches and jungles to snow peaks and drone factories. Every mission rewards stealth, positioning and smart loadouts, whether you play solo or in 4-player co-op.

Platforms and release

The game launched October 4, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. The Steam version followed on January 23, 2023. Ubisoft ended major content updates on April 5, 2022 with Operation Motherland as the final storyline; servers remain online.
