Ghost Recon Breakpoint Ghost Experience (Immersive Mode)

What the Ghost Experience / Immersive Mode is in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and how it changes survival and HUD.

The Ghost Experience (originally launched as Immersive Mode) is a free survival-focused mode added through post-launch updates. It is one of the biggest reasons the game's reception improved over time (Steam ~74% positive).

What changes

  • Stamina and survival matter: you must eat, drink, and manage injuries.
  • HUD is stripped down — waypoints and markers are minimal, pushing you to read the world.
  • Gear and resources are scarcer, rewarding preparation and stealth.

Who it is for

  • Players who want a hardcore tactical survival loop closer to the fantasy of a lone Ghost behind enemy lines.
  • Veterans tired of arcade-style assists.

How to enable it

The Ghost Experience is selected when starting or configuring a campaign session — toggle it in the game's difficulty / mode settings before deployment.

Exact toggle location can vary by platform and update. If you cannot find it in-game, check the official options menu under campaign settings.
